WHAT IS PMU?
1. How long does the procedure take?
Depending on what procedure you choose to get, it can take about 2-3 hours.
2. Does OMBRE BROWS/ NANO BROWS/ MICROBLADING hurt?
It all depends on your pain tolerance. Everyone has a different level of sensitivity but I always apply topical anesthetics (numbing) during the treatment to alleviate any pain, sensation or discomfort.
NOTE: Thick/oily and sensitive/thin skin with large pores tend to bleed more easily. Depending on your skin type, your brows may swell slightly immediately after the procedure, majority doesn’t.
3. Will there be any swelling?
Mostly not, if YES, very minimal and it only lasts 24-48 hours.
4. How long does it last?
Normally 1-3 years but it varies with skin type. It depends on how well your skin retains pigment during and after the session as well as how well you maintain your brows. Touch-ups are recommended to maintain brow shape and color. Touch-ups also ensure that your brows/eyeliners/ lip blushing last longer.
5. What can’t I do after the procedure?
Keep the skin clean and dry. Don’t submerge your brows in water or participate in activities such as swimming and exercising (no sweating). Overall avoid getting the area wet; no tanning or prolonged sun exposure; no picking, peeling, scratching or rubbing the tattoo, this could result in a loss of color and scarring. Once your brows have healed, you can wash your hair and face normally and begin treating your brows as your own.
6. Why does it take so long? What is the process like?
In detail:
The first thing I do is capture before and after photos of your brows. I map your brows using different measuring tools and pencil to get them as symmetrical as possible. (No one’s face is totally symmetrical. It is unrealistic to have expectations of perfect eyebrows. I don’t accept photos of celebrity’s brows or someone you’ve seen off of Instagram, Pinterest, etc. Everyone’s face shape differs.)
I draw the brow design in pencil so you get an idea of the shape and form. Before beginning the procedure, I make sure the shape and form is to your liking. I won’t begin with anything until you are satisfied. I will always give my input on what I feel looks better for your brow and facial structure but it’s ultimately up to you.
Once we have agreed on a final shape. I usually break open the skin first then apply numbing and proceed to the following steps.
Permanent cosmetic enhancements normally require multiple application sessions. To achieve the best results, you will be required to return for a touch-up 4-8 weeks after the initial procedure. The touch-up price is not included in the price for the 1st session.
Be prepared for the color intensity to be significantly darker and sharper immediately after the procedure. This will subside and become softer as the skin heals. This process can take up to 30 days
NOTE: Everyone’s skin differs and everyone heals differently. Trusting the healing process is just as crucial as following the after-care instructions thoroughly, please do your research before.
7. What is different between MICROBLADING/ MICROSHADING/ OMBRE POWDER/ NANO Brows?
They are techniques used for eyebrow enhancement, but they differ in application and results.
MICROBLADING: uses a manual blade to cut the skin open (like a paper cut) and implant the pigments through the cuts, creating hair-like strokes. Required more touch up than the machine work and not suitable for all skin types. NOT RECOMMENDED for sensitive/ mature skin.
NANO BROWS: A permanent make up technique using a fine, single-needle to deposit pigments into the superficial layers of the skin, creating hair-like strokes that mimic natural eyebrow hairs. The term "nano" refers to the extremely small size of the needle used in the procedure.
This technique is much less invasive than traditional (microblading) methods, resulting in less pain and minimal bleeding during the procedure. Can last up to 3 years and suitable for all skin types.
POWDER BROWS/ MICROSHADING: Ombré Powder Brows is a semi-permanent tattoo technique that uses a machine to place extremely tiny dots of pigment into the skin, creating a soft-shaded powder brows, similar to the look of makeup. Brows will have a gradient effect appearing soft and lighter at the front of the brow and darker towards the tail. This technique can be customized to a very bold look or softly filled in look depending on your personal preference.Can last up to 3 years and suitable for all skin types.
COMBO BROWS: is the combination of nano brows and powder brows.
The choice between them depends on personal preferences and desired outcomes.
